New Canaan Modern Farmhouse
This custom house was created in close collaboration with caring clients. Each consideration was taken to the spaces both in their design and in their technical challenges. Attention was given to meaningful choices from preferred hierarchy of spaces to preferred material selections, Maintaining the existing foundation, the new foundation gave rise to town regulations due to nearby wetlands and challenges due to draining. All these challenges are being worked out for the purpose of providing these clients a great home.
Berkshire Modern Fusion
Designed for a young couple with a newly born, the layout of this house took into consideration the cheerful growth of this family regarding the use of flexible spaces without forgoing the elements that were most meaningful for the existing nucleus. Particularly, the option was discussed for the location of the garage volume as it related with the remainder of the home due to the challenges brought about from its forward set location.
Vintage Barn Restoration
Having salvaged a considerable amount of wood beams, the client needed a design that would incorporate his work on the construction of the home. Thus, working with a structural engineer, specific attention has been given to their best use in the house both aesthetically and structurally. Similarly, close attention has been given to the client’s aesthetic and functional desires and needs for the realization of a space that embraces both his profound appreciation the salvaged material and his desire for a beautiful and functional home.
Multigeneratioal Farmhouse
This project was designed considering the best use of modular construction, and the conceptual need for a full first floor suite. The floor plan provides the best access to the main common area, a first floor office, second floor bedrooms with in suite bathroom access, and a full master suite with a bonus room. This arrangement may be appreciated by families overcoming health related challenges as well as families living in multigenerational households where first floor dwelling is preferable.
